The Security
Force Headquarters (Jaffna) initiated a project recently to renovate
100 Hindu Temples in Jaffna District which were damaged during
the period of conflict. Accordingly the Army troops renovated
"Muththumari Amman Hindu Temple" at Thelippalai and
the first Pooja after the renovation was held on 30 March 2018.
The Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake
attended this special pooja to mark the commitment of the Sri
Lanka Army towards the reconciliation process initiated by the
government.
Mr. Parthy Kumarasamy who is residing in the UK provided financial
assistance for the renovation.
